About West Somerset Radio

Who we are & what we do

We are an Ofcom licensed radio station entirely run by volunteers and helping to promote events and supporting voluntary groups in our area. We broadcast from our studios in Minehead on 104.4fm and across the world online to the residents and visitors to West Somerset.

Our breakfast show from 7.00am helps you get to work, providing the local news and essential travel information you need, along with playing some great music with a mixture of songs from years gone by along with the best of today’s songs.

In addition we have specialist genre shows such as a “Rock Show”, a Country Music show amongst others and encourage local bands, performers and artists to use West Somerset Radio as a platform to help launch their futures!

Local contributors pop in to support their organisations and promote local sports teams, theatre and we continually look to communicate with the various, clubs, groups and organisations within West Somerset.

People can contact the station by text, email or telephone for requests, provide traffic information, news and events which are encouraged by the team.

We are also always on the lookout for volunteers to assist in the running of the station, both behind the scenes and on air so if you wish to volunteer contact us on one of the options shown below.

If you wish to advertise, again contact us. A 30 second advertisement run a minimum of 7 times a day will cost you far less that you might think, and your advert could be heard by up to 25,000 people including the 5000 visitors to Butlins who visit the town and local area.
